These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Write Better Assistant ("the extension", "the service", "we", "us"), a Chrome extension that improves, rewrites, and translates text you select on web pages. By installing or using the extension, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the extension.
1. Who we are
Write Better Assistant ("we", "us") is an independent software product. For any questions about these Terms, contact: support@writebetterassistant.com.
2. What the service does
Write Better Assistant lets you select text on a web page and apply AI-powered actions such as improving, rewriting, translating, shortening, or correcting the text. The text you select is processed by a third-party AI provider to generate a result, which is returned to you.
3. Accounts and sign-in
To use rewrite features, you sign in with your Google account. You are responsible for keeping access to your Google account secure. You must provide accurate information and are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
4. Free and Pro plans
The service offers a Free plan with a limited number of rewrites per period, and a paid Pro plan with a higher allowance.
- Usage limits apply to each plan and reset on a recurring period.
- We may change plan limits or pricing. If we do, we will make reasonable efforts to inform you in advance.
5. Payments and subscriptions
Paid subscriptions are processed by our payment provider, Polar.
- By upgrading to Pro, you authorize the applicable recurring charge through Polar.
- We do not store your card or banking details; these are handled entirely by Polar.
- You may manage or cancel your subscription through the billing portal. Cancellation stops future charges; access to Pro features continues until the end of the paid period.
- Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful, harmful, abusive, or fraudulent purpose.
- Submit content that infringes the rights of others or violates any law.
- Attempt to bypass usage limits, rate limits, security, or authentication.
- Reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or its backend.
- Use the service to generate content that is illegal, hateful, or violates the policies of the underlying AI provider.
We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated.
7. AI-generated content
Results are produced by an automated AI system and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or unintended content. You are responsible for reviewing and deciding whether to use any result. We do not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or suitability of generated content for any purpose.
8. Your content
You retain ownership of the text you submit and the results you receive. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any text you process through the service. We do not claim ownership of your content and do not use it to train AI models.
9. Service availability
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The service may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time, with or without notice.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
12. Privacy
Your use of the service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we handle and how. Please review it to understand our data practices.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time by removing the extension. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service.
